Abstract
A model for the electronic structure of the tungsten impurity in diamo nd is presented that explains recent photoluminescence results. The mo del is based on the Ludwig and Woodbury model for interstitial transit ion-metal impurities in silicon and includes Jahn-Teller coupling, whi ch almost entirely quenches the orbital angular momentum.
