Two new deep seismic profiles have investigated crustal-scale hydrothermal
paleofields emplaced during the W-Au-Sb metallogenic epoch between 300 and
320 Ma in Limousin (French Massif Central). The first cuts across the Argen
tat Fault, a major channel-way, and the second runs through the Meuzac anti
form, the main goldfield in the area. Particular features observed on each
profile (transparent seismic zone, crustal scale discontinuities) confirm t
he different behaviors of structures and geological formation during this m
ineralizing period. ((C) 1939 Academie des sciences/Editions scientifiques
