Concurrent Engineering (CE) is known for its ability to reduce product deve
lopment time and cost, while it increases quality. CE achieves this by over
lapping the activities and executing them in parallel. This requires carefu
l planning and organisation prior to implementing CE projects, otherwise it
may cause delays in project completion and deterioration in project perfor
mance due to uncertainties in the process. In this paper, a probabilistic m
athematical model fitted to the precedence relations is proposed to estimat
e the project completion time under uncertainty while simulating the random
ness in the process.
