Abstract
As part of a research programme studying the diversity of fungi associated with rare plants in Kenya, nine new species of Meliola and one of Cryptomel iola associated with seven plant families are described and illustrated. Th ey include Meliola craterispermi, M. dendroseta, M. fragrans, M. kakamegens is, M. longiappressoriata, M. muhakae, M phaeomaculans, M. taitensis, M. tr ilepisii and C. Natans. Host families include Araliaceae, Ebenaceae, Euphor biaceae, Loganinceae, Melastomataceae, Menispermaceae, Moraceae and Rubiace ae. New records for Kenya include Meliola ambigua, M. artabotrydis, M. cari ssae, M. clerodendri, M. impatientis, M. pycnostachydis, M. phytolaccae and M. polytricha.
