An SSB signal generator performing phase shifting, used in SSB communicatio
ns, is composed of an analytic signal converter, a complex coefficient filt
er, and a carrier frequency multiplier. For higher density integration and
lower energy consumption, a narrow-band bandpass filter having an analytic
signal outputting pair having a dual function of an analytic signal convert
er and a complex coefficient filter has been proposed. However, only basic
schemes for such a filter have been presented, and its effects on the circu
it configuration, element sensitivity, and image rejection ratio of approxi
mate errors, which are problems associated with its implementation, have no
t been studied. In this paper, a method for constructing a narrow-band band
pass filter having an analytic signal outputting pair based on the design o
f a complex coefficient analog filter is presented, and effects of the ampl
itude and phase errors of two signals on the image rejection ratio of phase
errors, the element sensitivity, and the group delay characteristics are d
iscussed. Simulation and experimental results are presented to show the val
idity of the circuit construction scheme proposed. (C) 1999 Scripta Technic
