Abstract
The new concept of non-bond crosslinking of vinyl polymers is demonstrated with cyclic octaethylene glycol 5-methacrylamido-isophthalate. which was sy nthesized and copolymerized with methyl methacrylate to yield insoluble cop olymers with a high swelling capacity, threading of polymer chains through the rings being the cause of the crosslinking. Evidence for the threading w as obtained from 2D nuclear magnetic resonance. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science L td. All rights reserved.
