Y. Kitauchi et al., Experimental verification of multi-input PSS with reactive power input fordamping low frequency power swing, IEEE EN CON, 14(4), 1999, pp. 1124-1130
A Multi-input Power System Stabilizer (MPSS) is developed to improve dampin
g- of low frequency power swing in long distance power system and to emphas
ize robustness for changing power system configuration and/or operating con
ditions. In the MPSS, the deviation of reactive power Delta Q, changing rat
es of terminal voltage and active power output are added to a Delta P + Del
ta w input type PSS. In this paper, the AVR with the MPSS is applied to 100
[kVA] micro generator in CRIEPI's Power System Simulator and is compared w
ith the Delta P + Delta w PSS. The MPSS is verified through linearized syst
em analysis and experiment to damp low frequency power swing and to have be
tter performance than the Delta P + Delta w PSS.
