Abstract
Standstill Frequency Response (SSFR) testing and analysis of salient pole s ynchronous generators and motors performed by the members of the Working Gr oup are summarized. The papers presented in ir panel session at the 1997 Wi nter Power Meeting [1] are condensed into this Transactions paper for the b enefit of future researchers: The pertinent features of SSFR testing and an alysis of salient pole machines are described to point out the differences from those of round rotor turbogenerators extensively published in the lite rature.
