Abstract
This paper proposes the use of linear estimation techniques to determine th e electrical parameters of a three phase induction machine. The linear regr ession models are derived from the dynamical machine model. The method perm its estimation of a set of four basic parameters namely the stator resistan ce, the rotor time constant, the stator inductance and the transient induct ance. The parameters are estimated using only sinusoidal PWM voltage wavefo rm with a single machine operating point. In the case of the stator resista nce estimation a de voltage is added to sinusoidal voltage. Moreover, to es timate the transient inductance, the stator inductance and the rotor time c onstant no special signals are required. The data vector employed in the es timation procedure is obtained from the phase measurement data. Several sim ulation and experimental results concerning the use of the proposed approac h to the modeling of a three phase induction machine are presented.
