SESQUITERPENE ALKALOIDS FROM TRIPTERYGIUM-HYPOLAUCUM

Esters of three new (hyponines A-C) and four known sesquiterpene polya lcohol esters have been isolated from the root bark of Tripterygium hy poglaucum. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated at tylo xy)-O-5-furanoyl-O-5-deacetyl-7-deoxo-evonine, yloxy)-O-11-furanoyl-O- 11-deacetyl-7-deoxo-evonine and 7-(acetyloxy)-O-11-benzoyl-O-11-deacet yl-7 by spectroscopic means. This structural elucidation indicated tha t the structure of the known compound should be reversed. (C) 1997 Els evier Science Ltd.
