Abstract
1, 3-Diaryl-5-(2, 3-dihydrobenzoxazol-2-ylidene)-2-thiobarbituric acids 3 h ave been synthesized by the condensation of o-aminophenol with the correspo nding 5-bis(methylmercapto)methylene 2 and 5-ethoxymethylene derivative 4 o f 1,3-diaryl-2-thiobarbituric acids 1. The structure of the synthesized com pounds have been established on the basis of their elemental analysis and s pectral data.
