Abstract
Eight new cephalosporin derivatives have been prepared by the reaction of 5 -substituted-2-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazoles with cefotaxime acid and cefalot hin acid respectively in the presence of boron trifluoride diethyl etherate in acetic acid using microwave irradiation as compared to the conventional method and these derivatives are evaluated for their antibacterial activit y.
