Abstract
High-energy ball-milling is a way of synthesizing metastable materials , of inducing phase transformations or chemical reactions or of changi ng the reactivity of solids. Some contributions of Mossbauer spectrome try to a better characterization and understanding of the synthesis pr ocess and of mechanically alloyed materials are briefly sketched.
