Abstract
A novel high quality (Q)-factor integrated inductor using bondwires is fabr icated on a semi-insulating GaAs substrate for high performance GaAs monoli thic microwave integrated circuits (MMIC). The solenoidal inductor of verti cal bondwires shows significant improvements of the Q-factor (38-63) and th e resonant frequency (9.4-17 GHz) by virtues of the very low series resista nce and parasitic capacitance.
