Abstract
A Mossbauer investigation has been carried out on garnets from Medenec and Ktis (Czech Republic). Changes of Fe2+ and Fe3+ crystallographic sites were observed in these silicate garnets after temperature proces sing under oxidising atmosphere. The temperature processes were realis ed from 200 to 1000 degrees C by 100 degrees. The results of Mossbauer experiments are compared with the results of the chemical analysis, X -ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility m easurements.
