Abstract
Citation ethics: Responsible scientists owe it to their colleagues to be fair in recognizing their contributions by citing prior work; while this may seem self-evident, a surprising number of researchers and jo urnal editors take a cavalier attitude toward such a basic ''family va lue,'' maintains Barry A. Palevitz, a research professor in the depart ment of botany at the University of Georgia.
