Abstract
Neutron diffraction experiments were carried out for two liquid alloys with compositions CsBi and Cs3Bi2. The results indicate that probably polyanion s with an average number of about two Bi atoms per cluster are formed. This result contrasts with that for liquid Cs-Sb, which contains larger chains as polyanions. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0021-9606(00)52102 -3].
