Lowest observed frequency (LOF) and maximum observed frequency (MOF) s
patial-temporal correlation data for midlatitude long-distance paths a
re presented. The possibility of improving LOF and MOF forecasting acc
uracy for links without diagnostic systems by means of linear regressi
on methods and a semiempirical ionospheric model is investigated, and
a comparison is made of the effectiveness of providing HF communicatio
n frequencies on the basis of longterm forecasting and real-time chann
el evaluation.
