Abstract
A new proof of the asymptotic stability of a stationary solution of the Tjo n-Wu equation is given. The proof is based on some special properties (the maximum principle) of the Kantorovich-Rubinstein metric. Our method allows us to consider the Tjon-Wu equation in a more general form.
