This paper presents a model for electrical carbon fiber contacts. In the mo
del, a statistically distributed fiber length Ir ns considered at contact s
urfaces. A technique of dealing with this kind of contact surfaces with sta
tistically determined, or specifically undeterminable, geometry was develop
ed. The results were compared with the experimental data obtained previousl
y. Also, the contact behaviors of electrical carbon fiber contacts were dis
cussed and some specific contact properties, which were also observed exper
imental, were clarified. A contact resistance decreasing rate was defined i
n a logarithmic-logarithmic scale coordinate. A constant-rate contact regio
n was identified. The objective of this research is to provide a theoretica
l basis for the contact surface designs of electrical connectors.
