Abstract
The management of patients with sarcomas of the appendicular skeleton with limb-sparing surgery has become the standard of care. This is the result of advances in the understanding of the biology and staging of tumors, improvement in reconstructive techniques, and development of effective adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. A limb-sparing appro ach is applicable to virtually any bone lesion, whether low grade or h igh grade, and to all of the common primary soft-tissue sarcomas.
