Symmetric phase-matched filtering algorithms based on Fourier-Mellin transform

Based on Chen's algorithm,a new template matching algorithm was developed. The algorithm resolves the problem that two images have different sizes in frequency domain correlation, replacing the maximum by local maximum on cor relation surface, puts forward an iterative matching strategy from rotation and scale parameters to translation parameter between images so that these parameters suit to each other. The matching result of aerial photographs s hows that this is a promising algorithm.
