Abstract
Luminescence properties of several structurally characterized dinuclear gol d(I) complexes with phosphor-l,1-dithiolato type ligands were investigated. Among these complexes, single crystal X-ray analyses revealed structural t ypes, where weak intermolecular Au ... Au interactions (similar to 2.90-3.2 0 Angstrom) were present in some cases and absent in others. This interacti on showed a profound influence on the observed emission spectra for the tit le complexes. A clear correlation between the emission profiles of these go ld-sulfur complexes and the presence of intermolecular Au Au interactions i n the solid state has been established.
