Intermittent propofol sedation during embolization of cerebral arteriovenous malformations

Embolization procedure was performed for a 12-year-old boy with a left pari etal arteriovenous malformation. Although provocative tests for the feeders to be occluded were considered very informative, the patient had to be sed ated during microcatheter insertion. We used intermittent sedation with pro pofol during the interventional procedure, and obtained successful emboliza tion.
