Abstract
We have measured, using the pulsed neutron source ISIS, the total neutron c
ross section of liquid para-hydrogen in the vicinity of the triple point. T
he experimental results compare only qualitatively with the results of the
Young and Koppel theory. However, a much better agreement is found once mod
ifications are included in the model which effectively take into account th
e intermolecular interactions.
