Abstract
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the most common cause of death in both men and women in the UK and the prevalence of CHD is amongst the highest in the world. It is a chronic progressive condition with its inception in childho od. An effective strategy for combating CHD needs action both at a population l evel and directed at high risk individuals.
