Ma. Safarpour et al., Influence of short-chain alcohols on the micellization parameters of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), J CHIN CHEM, 46(6), 1999, pp. 983-991
The influence of short-chain alcohol on the aggregation behavior of Sodium
Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) is investigated within a wide range of alcohol concen
tration by potentiometric technique. It is observed that aggregation behavi
or of SDS is a function of alcohol concentration. Variation of micellizatio
n parameters are studied in a wide range of alcohol concentration and the t
rend of changing of micellization parameters have been investigated. The va
riations of micellization parameters show several regularities. Finally, th
e relationships between these regularities and alcohol-surfactant interacti
ons have been explained.
