Abstract
dc Electrical conduction has been examined for polycarbonate (PC) film s (thickness approximate to 66 mu m) in a broad temperature range (301 -433 K) with applied field ranging from 0.4 x 10(4) to 2.2 x 10(4) V/c m. Ohmic behaviour has been observed for PC films at low fields at all temperature ranges. The-study of conductivity with temperature shows that only the Poole-Frenkel effect can explain the experimental result s. The surface and volume resistivities of PC films are typically of t he order of 10(13) and 10(16) Omega-cm respectively at 301 K Two regio ns of conduction have been observed: Region I from 301-370 K, region I I from 370-433 K. The activation energy for conduction changes abruptl y from 0.32 eV in region I to 0.60 eV in region II.
