Synthesis, characterisation and thermal behaviour of the Co(II) and Ni(II)complex combinations with 2,2 '-diamino-4,4 '-ditiazole and its diacetilated derivative

Chloro complexes of Co(II) and Ni(II) with 2,2'-diamino-4,4'-dithiazole and 2,2'-bisacetamido-4,4'-dithiazole have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, infrared and electronic spectral studies a nd thermal analysis. The two ligands act as bidentate through the two endoc yclic nitrogen atoms. Thetrahedral and distorted octahedral structures have been proposed for the complexes od Co(II). Ni(II) complexes have been assi gned either a square planar, or an octahedral stereochemistry.
