Abstract
The lead dioxide electrodeposition on a rotating disk electrode in a nitrat e electrolyte is presented as a complex multistage process whose first stag e features the formation of oxygen-containing species at the electrode surf ace. The species interact with divalent lead ions yielding Pb(III) of the t ype Pb(OH)(2+) which electrochemically oxidizes to lead dioxide.
