Polypyrrole (PPy) was electrogenerated by means of anodic polarization in a
n acetonitrile solution with 2% water. The so-called magic salt (LiN(SO2CF3
)(2)) was used as electrolyte. For each experimental electropolymerization,
polymer weight, charge generated from the polymerization process (Q(pol))
and charge stored in the film (Q(ox)) were determined, as well as the curre
nt productivity, the charge storage efficiency and the ratio of these latte
r two magnitudes. The kinetic parameters were calculated by means of ex-sit
u ultramicrogravimetric follow-up and the polymerization charges in each sa
mple. From polymer weight, the kinetic equation R-P = K [M](0.44) [E](0.65)
was obtained, and for the second case R-P = K [M](0.34) [E](0.72), being [
M] and [E] the concentrations of monomer and electrolyte, respectively. (C)
