Abstract
In conventional stepwise Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis, incorporation of cysteine with nitro-pyridine sulfenyl (Npys) or pyridine sulfenyl (Pys) groups which act as an activation/protection of the thiol function has been accomplished in a sequence independent manner.
