NOVEL PPV DERIVATIVES EMITTING LIGHT OVER A BROAD WAVELENGTH RANGE

Communication: Organic films for display applications have usually bee n developed with the aim of individual emission of red, blue, and gree n light. Another approach, presented here, is to design organic light- emitting devices that emit over a broad spectral range, i.e., essentia lly white light. The preparation of two new polymer (see Figure) films is described, together with the results of absorption, photoluminesce nce, and electroluminescence measurements.
