Abstract
The transfer of tetramethyl-p-phenyle-diamine (TPD) across the water/nitrob enzene interface was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The transfer mecha nism of TPD is derived from its electrochemical behavior. The effect of pH on the transfer behavior was discussed in detail. The standard interfacial potential difference Delta(o)(w)psi(0), and standard Gibbs energies, Delta( o)(w)G(0) of TPD were calculated, The transfer process was also supported b y differential pulse and convolution voltammetry, and visible spectroscopic studies. The linear relationship between peak current i(p) and concentrati on of TPD demonstrates the potential for analysis of TPD. (C)2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
