Objective. to insist on the difficulty of the prenatal diagnosis of aliment
ary tract duplication, particularly in its intralingual location, and on th
e need for treatment at birth. Material and methods: a case of intralingual
alimentary tract duplication diagnosed prenatally is reported. Results. pr
enatal aspiration of lingual duplication should be reserved for exceptional
situations. Conclusion, prenatal ultrasonography can suggest the diagnosis
of alimentary tract duplication. The fetus should be examined thoroughly f
or other malformations, and the delivery should take place in a center equi
pped to provide emergency care if needed.
