Abstract
The tribe Asclepiadeae is divided into six subtribes, each of which is succinctly characterized and defined in terms of included genera. The inclusion of the Gonolobeae in the Asclepiadeae is formalized and sub tribal rank is attributed to the group. A synonymic synopsis of genera accounts for all validly published generic names.
