Abstract
The preparation and characterization of mixed crystals with formula Li(NH4) (1-x)KxSO4 has been carried out. The characterization was by thermal analys is (DSC and ATD), X-ray diffraction on powder and single crystal samples at variable temperature and Raman spectroscopy at variable temperature. Two t ype of phases have been obtained: A solid solution with 0.94 < x < 1, with the same phases to those observed in the LiKSO4, but new phases, which are not shown by the LiKSO4, can be obtained according to the crystallization p rocess. The second type of compounds have the formula Li(NH4)(0.53)K0.47SO4 , with an hexagonal structure (a approximate to 3 a(LiKSO4)). This compound have a phase transition at 463K.
