Epiphyllous bryophyte species (26 liverworts and one moss) are reported fro
m the Lacandon Forest in Chiapas, Mexico. Nine of them are reported for the
first time for the country: Cololejeunea subscariosa, Diplasiolejeunea gla
ziovii, and Leptolejeunea obfuscata were previously reported from South Ame
rican lowland species, while Cololejeunea jooriana, Colura greig-smithii, D
iplasiolejeunea borhidiana, and Lejeunea pililoba have Caribbean distributi
ons. A new combination, Aphanolejeunea pustulosa (Jovet-Ast) A. Bernecker &
Pocs, is made.
