Abstract
The differential cross section for Be-7(d, n)B-8 reaction at E-c.m. = 8.3 M eV has been measured by using a Be-7 radioactive beam. The reaction cross s ection was determined to be 28 +/- 3 mb. The astrophysical S17(0) factor fo r the Be-7(p,gamma)(8) B reaction was derived to be 24 +/- 5 eV b through t he asymptotic normalization constant of B-8 extracted from the experimental data. This result is found to be consistent with a previous value obtained from the same reaction at E-c.m. = 5.8 MeV, implying the energy independen ce of this indirect method within the uncertainty.
