Abstract
Cryptococcus neoformans is an opportunistic fungal pathogen that causes men ingitis in similar to 10% of patients with AIDS. New selectable markers whi ch confer resistance to G418 or phleomycin when transformed into C, neoform ans were made. A hygromycin-selectable marker was modified to allow selecti on,vith a single copy of the marker.
