Abstract
One of the main and most difficult problems in computer-aided design is to produce automatically a 3D object model from its engineering drawings. A so lution to this problem is considered in this article. The main difficulties are discussed and experimental technology that includes automatic engineer ing drawing scanning, vectorisation and recognition, ED image parameterisat ion and 3D object reconstruction are included in the proposed solution.
