Abstract
Muskelin is a novel intracellular protein, identified in mouse cells, that acts as a mediator of cell spreading and cytoskeletal responses to the extr acellular matrix component thrombospondin-1. We report that human muskelin is 98% identical with mouse muskelin at the amino acid level. The human mus kelin gene is located at 7q32. The mouse muskelin gene maps syntenically at chromosome 6 B1/B2. Copyright (C) 1999 S. Karger AG, Basel.
