Abstract
The authors demonstrate wideband dispersion compensation of a 85km fibre li nk up to the fourth-order. The second-order and third-order dispersions of a standard singlemode Fibre an simultaneously compensated for by a dispersi on-compensation fibre, and the residual third-order dispersion and the four th-order dispersion are precisely equalised by a Frequency-resolved program mable dispersion compensator. A dispersion window wider than 30nm is realis ed, and 0.2ps pulse trains with 22nm bandwidth can be transmitted with smal l dispersive distortion.
