Abstract
A novel fibre Bragg grating displacement sensor is presented. Using a unifo rm density and thickness overlapped dual-isosceles triangular cantilever be am as a strain agent, it is demonstrated both experimentally and theoretica lly that this sensor is able to automatically compensate for wavelength shi fts induced by temperature. The measured sensitivity of this sensor is 0.10 51 nm/mm within the working range of -18 - 18mm.
