T. Ebertshauser et H. Arenhovel, Coherent pion electroproduction on the deuteron in the Delta(1232) resonance region, EUR PHY J A, 6(4), 1999, pp. 431-443
Coherent pion electroproduction on the deuteron is studied in the Delta(123
2) resonance region in the impulse approximation, i.e., neglecting pion res
cattering and two-body effects. The elementary reaction on the nucleon is d
escribed in the framework of an effective Lagrangian approach including the
dominant P-33(1232) resonance and the usual background terms of the Born c
ontributions for pi(o) production. We have studied the influence of these d
ifferent contributions on the various structure functions which determine t
he unpolarized exclusive differential cross section in a variety of kinemat
ic regions.
