Hypothesis on isolated systolic hypertension in the elderly

Although a number of studies have been focused on systolic-diastolic hypert ension, few investigations have been performed on isolated systolic hyperte nsion, particularly in the fields of pathophysiology, aetiology and drug tr eatment. In this article, several hypotheses are presented on this subject.
