Abstract
The alkaloid 3-bromomultiflorine and its molecular complex with succinimide were studied by FTIR spectroscopy. In the spectrum of the complex in the s olid state, the presence of the N-H ... N hydrogen bond, according to X ray study, is very well reflected by the broadened absorption in the region 31 00-2600 cm(-1). In contrast to the above, in chloroform solution the 1:1 co mplex dissociated almost completely. Thus the adducts of alkaloids with var ious compounds cannot affect the chemical and biological properties of alka loids in solutions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
