Abstract
In this paper the possibility of designing a structure whose microwave prop erties are similar to the optical properties of cholesteric Liquid crystals is demonstrated. Unlike cholesteric liquid crystals, the considered multil ayer structure can have considerable local chiral properties. The exact ana lytical solution for the reflection and transmission from a slab sample is given and illustrated by numerical examples. The modified de Vries formula for the rotation of the polarization plane of electromagnetic waves is foun d.
