Abstract
The reaction of trimethylsilyl pyroglutamate with oxalyl chloride at r oom temperature easily yields pyroglutamoyl chloride. This unstable co mpound, obtained with difficulty by other methods, is suitable for the preparation of Pyroglutamic eaters and amides.
