Aa. Shashkin et al., Time-resolved imaging of the boundary excitations of a two-dimensional electron gas in a magnetic field, PHYS REV B, 60(24), 1999, pp. R16307-R16310
We use a time-resolved imaging technique with pulsed-laser induced perturba
tion to study the excitation dynamics of a two-dimensional electron gas in
a AlxGa1-xAs/GaAs heterostructure under an applied magnetic field. The velo
city of the optically generated boundary excitations is found to be much sm
aller than the expected edge magnetoplasmon velocities. We interpret the ex
perimental results in terms of theoretically ;predicted acoustic boundary m
odes [I. L. Aleiner and L. I. Glazman, Phys. Rev. Lett. 72, 2935 (1994)]. [
